The single most useful thing a new homeowner can do is rekey rather than assume. You do not know how many keys to your new house exist or who has them — previous owners, contractors, cleaners, a realtor's lockbox. Rekeying the existing cylinders is usually cheaper than replacing the locks and achieves the same thing.
South Florida is hard on exterior hardware. Salt air near the coast corrodes cylinders from the inside, and humidity swells doors so that a lock which worked in January binds in August. If a key has started to need wiggling, that is the lock telling you it is close to failing — and it is a much cheaper problem before it strands you outside.
We install smart locks as well, but with a caveat worth hearing: a smart lock is only as good as the door it is fitted to. If the frame is soft or the strike plate is held by half-inch screws, the electronics are not the weak point. We will say so rather than sell you a lock that solves the wrong problem.

Common questions
Can you make a car key if I have lost every key?
Yes — that is our specialty. With no working key, the key is originated from the vehicle's key code and the immobiliser is programmed from scratch. Bring your driver's licence and the vehicle registration so we can confirm ownership. Call with the year, make and model and we will confirm on the phone whether it is a job we complete on site.
Do I need to tow my car to the dealer for a lost key?
In most cases, no. A mobile locksmith with the right equipment can originate a key at the vehicle, so there is no tow and no dealer appointment. There are a small number of makes and model years where the dealer is genuinely the right answer, and we will tell you if yours is one of them rather than take the job and find out.
What do you need from me before you come out?
The year, make and model of the vehicle, and the VIN if you can read it through the base of the windscreen. For a home or business call, the number of locks and the hardware brand if you know it. That is what lets us quote a real range instead of a guess.
What identification do I need for a car key?
A driver's licence and the vehicle registration. If the vehicle is a rental, the rental agreement works in place of the registration. Originating a key to a car is exactly the kind of capability that has to be handled carefully, so this is not negotiable.
